Our Leadership
Christie Newbon
Executive Director at Newbon Consulting. Sydney-based, working with organisations across Australia.
For more than 25 years, Christie Newbon has helped organisations unlock growth by winning new business, building partnerships and developing high-performing teams. This work has been achieved by partnering with global pharmaceutical companies, government departments, charities and corporate leaders, connecting the right people, and developing opportunities that work.
Over her career, Christie has delivered impressive annual revenue through tenders, proposals and multi-year partnerships, working with top 10 pharmaceutical companies, including CSL, GSK, Sanofi, AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Novartis. She has secured and led major government and not-for-profit grants, among them programs for Cancer Australia, Head and Neck Cancer, and Neuroendocrine Cancer.
Christie's work has been recognised with the PRIME Industry Award for NGO of the Year, recognising excellence in education for Neuroendocrine Cancer. Awards aside, her strength is getting senior clinical, commercial and government stakeholders to back the same plan, and then delivering it.
Christie has completed the key strategy and marketing subjects within the Postgraduate MBA, and she holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine, Nutrition and Psychology from the University of Wollongong and the University of Massachusetts.
The best commercial outcomes happen when people feel connected, valued and backed. Christie works alongside leaders and teams to build accountability, confidence and real engagement, because motivated, aligned people grow businesses. Clients describe her as energetic, direct and collaborative, someone who cares about their success and is never afraid to roll up her sleeves.
Across her career, Christie has worked the full commercial cycle: business development and strategic partnerships, sales team coaching and leadership, marketing strategy, tender and grant work, stakeholder engagement, sponsorship and fundraising, and corporate events and communications. She has done that work for organisations in healthcare and pharmaceuticals, preventative health and wellness, government, not-for-profits and charities, education, professional associations and the corporate sector, which is why she is as comfortable in a clinical boardroom as she is on a community fundraising committee.
